Material options are reviewed against your drawing, grade, thickness and finishing needs. Stainless steel remains our core focus; sourcing and the manufacturing route are confirmed during quotation.
01 / MATERIAL FAMILY
Stainless Steel
Our core material family for custom plates, brackets, panels and tube components. Specify the grade for the actual environment and engineering design.
304 / 304L are general-purpose austenitic grades; 316 / 316L contain molybdenum. 430 is ferritic; 2205 is duplex. These families have different forming and fabrication requirements.
Application examples
Equipment mounting parts, covers, formed brackets and corrosion-conscious assemblies.
Include in your drawing brief
Exact grade and standard, sheet or tube form, thickness, surface finish, exposure conditions and any material documentation.
Surface & finishing
2B, bright-annealed, brushed or polished appearance; edge treatment and grain direction specified separately.
A material family to discuss for fabricated supports, mounting plates and machine components, with the required protective finish included in the brief.
Specify the full grade, product standard and delivery condition. S235JR and S355JR are examples under European structural steel specifications; other national designations require a separate specification review.
Application examples
Base plates, structural brackets, gussets and equipment supports designed for the specified steel grade.
Include in your drawing brief
Grade and product standard, thickness, delivery condition, welding requirements where applicable, and coating system.
Surface & finishing
As-cut and deburred edges, or a specified paint, powder-coating or other protective-treatment requirement, subject to quotation.
A pre-coated sheet is different from a finished part galvanized after fabrication. Cutting exposes edges; agree how cut edges, bends and any welded areas will be treated.
Application examples
Sheet-metal covers, formed panels, trays and enclosure parts.
Include in your drawing brief
Base grade, coating type and coating mass, sheet thickness, surface quality, and exposed-edge acceptance criteria.
Surface & finishing
Specify the supplied coating and any additional edge protection or finishing. Do not describe galvanized steel as stainless steel.
5052 is a non-heat-treatable aluminium-magnesium alloy used in sheet, plate and tube form. 6061 and 6082 are other alloy options to review. Bend suitability depends on alloy, temper, thickness and geometry; alloys are not automatic substitutes.
Application examples
Lightweight mounting plates, panels, brackets and components with additional CNC features.
Include in your drawing brief
Alloy, temper, product standard, thickness, bend geometry, machined features and cosmetic-face requirements.
Surface & finishing
Mill finish or specified brushing, anodizing or coating requirements; appearance and masking details are agreed during quotation.
C11000 is an electrolytic tough-pitch copper designation. State the alloy and temper rather than only the color or “pure copper.” Electrical and thermal performance belong in the engineering specification.
Application examples
Connection plates, conductive tabs and specified equipment interfaces.
Include in your drawing brief
Alloy, temper, thickness, flatness, contact-face condition, burr restrictions and any required electrical properties.
Surface & finishing
Specify bare copper, cleaning, protective handling or plating requirements; coating and contact-face acceptance need explicit agreement.
C26000 is cartridge brass. Brass alloy composition and temper affect the delivered component; do not substitute a different copper alloy without approval.
Application examples
Faceplates, decorative profiles, spacers and specified mechanical interfaces.
Include in your drawing brief
Alloy and temper, thickness, appearance reference, critical features and any plating or protective-finish requirements.
Surface & finishing
Specified brushing, polishing or plating may be discussed. Agree visible faces and appearance acceptance before production.
Include the alloy or steel designation, product standard, temper or delivery condition, nominal thickness and required material records. Sheet and tube specifications may differ. Designations from different standards are not automatically interchangeable.
Drawing, environment and finish
Send the finished-part drawing, quantity, exposure conditions, critical dimensions, bend details and cosmetic-face requirements. Copper, brass and other reflective materials require a review of the available laser process. Listed grades are inquiry references rather than stock or thickness guarantees.
