How to Request a Custom Laser Cutting Quote
Prepare a laser cutting RFQ with drawing revision, material, quantity, tolerances and delivery requirements. Understand what affects the quotation.

What information is needed for a laser cutting quote?
Send the finished-part drawing, units, material grade, sheet or wall thickness, quantity and required finish. Identify critical tolerances and the delivery destination. A clear image or PDF can start the review; a clean DXF is useful for a flat cutting contour. You can also describe a part without uploading a file.
Which drawing should control the order?
Identify the part number and revision on each document. If the DXF, PDF and model disagree, flag the difference and name the approved reference before production. Include dimensions for the finished part, not only the flat blank, when bending or machining is required.
What affects the price of a custom laser-cut part?
Material grade and thickness, purchased stock, cutting length, small features, nesting, setup, quantity, additional operations, inspection and packing can affect the quotation. The same outside dimensions do not imply the same cost. Submit quantity per part and revision so the manufacturing route can be reviewed.
How should prototypes and repeat batches be quoted?
List prototype quantity separately from production quantity and expected repeat orders. Identify any inspection or sample-approval requirement. Batch size, minimum order quantity and lead time are confirmed after review; a product illustration does not establish a standard price or available stock.
Can a drawing image or AI preview be used for manufacturing?
An image is accepted for inquiry and technical review. Dimensions must be readable and complete. The optional AI preview helps communicate eligible geometry after customer confirmation; it does not approve tolerances, material suitability or the manufacturing route. Production follows agreed engineering documents.
What happens after the inquiry is submitted?
The inquiry brings your files, confirmed preview where available, contact details and requirements together for the team. Ambiguous dimensions or conflicting documents need clarification before a final quotation. Include your requested date and destination so delivery requirements can be reviewed with the part.
